Nippon Sheet Glass Foundation for Materials Science and Engineering (NSG Foundation) was established by Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. in 1979 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of NSG. NSG Foundation offers research grants for studies on inorganic materials used in various industries, including information technology, communication, biotechnology, energy, and environmental protection. Since its establishment, NSG Foundation has received 5,937 applications and disbursed a total of 1,930 million yen to 1,526 selected applicants. NSG Foundation also offers grants for research themes related to inorganic materials conducted at overseas universities and institutes. Since 1992, it has received 1,126 applications and has disbursed a total of 1,154 thousand dollars to 196 selected applicants.
